To investigate the sensitivity of the measurements from DKI for differentiating between patients with MCI and patients with AD and detecting microstructural changes in both white matter and grey matter, we used region of interest (ROI) analysis focusing on the ROIs that have been previous investigated using DTI model in other studies. We hypothesize that with more precise model and additional information provided by DKI matrix, we could not only better differentiate between MCI and AD, but also better characterize the microtructural alternations.
