The anatomic MR imaging of the heart is mainly with black blood techniques. These techniques improve the segmentation of myocardium from the blood pool. For low-signal representation, a self calibrated split-echo FSE (SCSE-FSE) was proposed and implemented. The aim is to waive a separate reference scan, to shorten measurement times, enhances image quality and reduction of image artefacts.
