Cognitive deficits in schizophrenia are associated with dysfunction of the lateral prefrontal cortex closely related to delayed-response working memory (WM). Despite recent studies in identifying the neural circuitry contributing to delayed-response WM, the correlation between brain volume change and impairment of the inhibition control in patients with schizophrenia have not yet been completely specified.
