In ry, 19 runners were measured on a mobile 1.5 Tesla MRI during the Transeuropean-Foot-Race, a ultramarathon with an average of 70.1 km per day for 64 consecutive days. All participants received baseline measurement before the run and afterwards severel times during the run. T2* measurement was performed in the femoropatellar joint and demonstrated a significant difference of T2* values of the patella between baseline measuremnet and the first assessment during the run.
