The resolution limit in diffusion MRI determines the minimal structural size, e.g. axon diameter, that is possible to estimate accurately. In q-space analysis, this limit scales according to the inverse cube root of the maximal gradient strength (Gmax). In this study, we show by theoretical analysis and simulations that the resolution limit scales as the inverse square root of Gmax for model-based diffusion MRI.
